first person OCLC Web-scale Management Services

I am currently leading an Orbis Cascade Alliance team (Network Library System Task Force) that's pilot testing an OCLC Web-scale Management Services instance.

Because of scheduling conflicts, I couldn't attend the WMS presentation at the LITA National Forum this year. But several presentations are streamed online, and if you'd like to learn more about WMS, they're worth a look. http://bit.ly/9facdf

Jason Griffey of UT Chattanooga and Michael Dula at Pepperdine University both serve as technology managers at academic libraries that are implementing WMS for production services this fall.

My colleague, Kyle Banerjee of the Orbis Cascade Alliance, provides some perspective on the potential use of WMS by consortia. And Gina Persichini, Networking Consultant for the Idaho Commission for Libraries, describes the planned use of WMS by public libraries and (in relative terms) smaller libraries.
